Official Facebook iPad App is on the way!

The Facebook app currently available on the iPad is largely unusable. The app is the iPhone version of Facebook and is unfortunately too pixelated to view in full size and so must be accessed in a smaller size – which results in an unattractive and inconvenient user experience. For the time being, I prefer to use the browser version of Facebook more...

"Friends with Benefits" YouTube Campaign

I visit YouTube on a daily basis, I enjoy listening to some Kanye West while taking care of the various communities I manage here at Agile. Today, I had a particularly interesting experience while visiting the site. The banner on YouTube today features Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis in a clever campaign to promote their upcoming film, “Friends more...

Facebook Ads vs. Google Ads

Both online giants have advertising platforms, so I thought it would be interesting to compare the two. I find Facebook Ads to be an incredibly valuable tool for targeting specific demographics. The amount of information users disclose on Facebook makes it incredibly easy to target people with specific interests. Although I’ve never used Google more...

The Astounding Connectivity of the Internet

The folks over at Cisco have recently put together a very interesting infographic which visualizes the level of connections currently linking the online and offline. It was back in 2008 that the number of things connected to the internet surpassed the number of people connected to the internet, the growth of the former has continued to grow exponentially. The more...

Belarus has cut access to popular social media sites once again yesterday, in light of the continued protests against the country’s authoritarian regime and economic crisis. A rights group has revealed yesterday that access to international sites, such as Twitter and Facebook, and popular local social networks, such as Vkontakte and Odnoklasniki more...

On Google+, Facebook, Friendster & MySpace

We’ve all been joking about MySpace’s fall from glory for some time now, but is it even more profound now that Google+ has emerged? Is the following image relevant? It was on the front page of Reddit today, with jokes about the lack of indie bands in MySpace’s photograph thrown around. But some interesting points were brought up too, more...

WordPress Surpasses 50 Million Blogs, Powers 14% of World's Websites

WordPress, the popular blogging service, has reached a milestone this weekend when the WordPress Site Counter on their website surpassed 50,000,000. About half of those WP sites are hosted on WordPress.com – a hosted version of the open source package. The service is easy to use and allows one to set up a blog in seconds, it’s also highly more...

Obama's Twitter Town Hall

There’s been a lot of buzz about the Town Hall event that Obama is hosting on Twitter, especially after the hack of FoxNews last week which resulted in the false report of Obama’s assassination. It was done live via the @whitehouse account on Twitter, using the hashtag #askobama. The focus was on answering questions around the economy, more...

Will Google+ Erase the Personal/Professional Divide in Social Networking?

It’s been quite busy and hectic here at Agile, so I did not really get a chance to look at what all of social media has been abuzz about: Google+. Eric Schmidt may have been hesitant about treading into the social arena as Google’s former CEO, but this is no longer the case with the rest of Google. The search giant is boldly going into social more...
