I still do not have an answer, I have been procrastinating on the decision to buy an iPad since it was released last April. It has been called revolutionary, the better way to experience the web, email, pictures, music, gaming, video and more, yet I still don’t own one. I am not typically an early adaptor when it comes to big ticket items and as a result I seem to consistently find some excuse to delay my purchase decision. I am a Blackberry user so the thought of a Blackberry tablet (Playbook) was enticing, but still left me indecisive. Between Christmas spending and the constant rumours of a new iPad I allowed myself to stay in a decision-free zone.
The rumours of the release of an iPad 2 will finally be addressed on March 2nd. All Things Digital released an exclusive report yesterday confirming rumours about an iPad 2 release stating that Apple is going to make a major product announcement next week. There will be a lot of speculation from now till then about what the new features will be, release dates, potential of iPhone update, and if Steve Jobs will be in attendance. I will avoid this media frenzy and wait for the confirmation of when a new iPad will be released and available for purchase in Canada so I can finally make a decision.
Do you have an iPad? Is it a nice to have or a cant live without?
In the meantime I choose to marvel at the effects the iPad has had on our behavior and online purchasing decisions. When it comes to marketing and e-commerce other devices cannot compare to the iPad. A new report from Yudu Media collects the findings of a number of different surveys and research outlets, and paints a picture of how the device is made to sell content, products and services. Check out the infographic which highlights some of the key findings within the report.
